Welland is situated on the Welland Canal and Welland River about a half hour drive from   St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. 

Welland has a great deal of countryside property, some older established homes in the downtown core, larger newer homes in the north end, as well as many new housing developments.

Outdoor Parks and Recreational Activities

Head to Memorial Park to see the ships passing or take a dip in the figure eight shaped outdoor pool! 

The Welland Canal Parkway Trail is a lovely paved path great for walking with strollers, or biking. It winds along the waterway and through the downtown core. 

If you are visiting the area in June, make sure to check out the many events at the annual Rose Festival

Up for a more daring adventure, sign up to participate in the Welland Float Festival, where thousands of inflatables take to the canal alongside live music events. 


Welland is serviced by the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board, as well as the French and Catholic French School boards. 

The Catholic board offers six elementary schools and one secondary school, and the public board has ten elementary schools and two secondary schools. 

Niagara College has a campus in Welland, and Brock University is a half hour drive away!
