Stoney Creek is a community just west of Hamilton that borders on Lake Ontario and has many agricultural areas, as well as housing developments that have sprung up in the past forty years.

 The Old Town Section of Stoney Creek is on the Niagara Escarpment. Stoney creek has a variety of housing options, from large waterfront detached homes and condominiums, century urban homes, newer suburban neighbourhoods, to rural properties.

 If hiking the Bruce Trail through this area, be sure to check out the Lower Punchbowl Falls. 


Stoney Creek is served by the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and Hamilton Wentworth Catholic School Board

It has a large variety of elementary schools and high schools. Stoney Creek is also a short drive to McMaster University and Mohawk College, and a thirty minute drive away from Brock University
