Ancaster is an affluent community located within Hamilton municipality, on the Niagara escarpment. 

The downtown area contains many heritage homes, as this community was originally established in 1763.

Ancaster is served by the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and Hamilton Wentworth Catholic School Board

It has a variety of elementary schools and high schools. Ancaser is also a short thirty to forty minute drive from the University of GuelphUniversity of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University

McMaster University and Mohawk College are also a short drive away.
